Janet Jackson was the youngest in the Jackson family and the second biggest artist to come from this family of musicians following Michael Jackson. Janet Jackson, sixteen years of age, faced criticism and was booed in the early stages for being just another artist from the Jackson’s and for her limited voice abilities. She had a distinct voice which had a low hum to it and which was not very much accepted then. Later she worked closely on her music styles and incorporated various elements of hip hop, rock, alternate hip hop, rhythm and blues, soul and reggae and combined it with her peculiar voice to produce the Jackson magic! Her hard work paid off when she signed a multi million deal with Virgin recordings making her one of the most highly paid singers of all times.

Janet Jackson has always supported her brother Michael Jackson throughout his life and has stuck with him through thick and thin even when her other sister Letoya made accusations against him and their family. On the event of her brother’s death Janet told the press that she was devastated and it was such a sudden ending for he was just 50 when he was found dead in his apartment in Los Angeles of a heart attack due to a suspected drug mix up. She urged that they find the exact reason for her brother’s demise and also blamed Michael’s doctor for causing his death by negligence.

Janet’s never been the one to fall under the pressures of maintaining a thin figure to fit into the music industry, instead prefers to maintain a healthy living by working out and eating right. She admits that it takes a lot of hard work and tight fitness regime to stay in shape and perform efficiently. Janet says she is a fan of piercings and has various piercings on her body including one in her nipples! She always dresses in dark colors that accentuate her built and toned figure, and carries well matched black accessories to go with her gowns or leggings. She prefers the jet black hair that she has and has never colored her hair till date and opts to keep it straight and smooth rather than invest in quirky cuts or risky bangs!
